Theratipura (थेरातिपुरा or থেরাতিপুরা) is a village on the eastern coast of the Kav’orra Desert just southeast of Janaghat. A fishing settlement, it is under the direct control of House Rakhaa. The village is named after the temple it grew around, dedicated to the goddess Therahti. Theratipura is rather neglected by the administration of the Hukumat, as it is generally bypassed by all the ships that head up the coast towards Janaghat. The rare land caravan or traveler heading up to Janaghat travels through Theratipura, served only by a single caravanserai. Trade therefore has nearly no influence on the economy of this village, which relies solely on fishing and desert agriculture. The sea breeze cools the harsh desert landscape, and there are local legends of the breeze carrying the voices of drowned sailors lost at sea. This adds a strange, coastal culture to this specific temple of Therahti as it is dedicated to the memory of sailors who have drowned or otherwise died at sea.
